Burnaby sets date for Spring Clean-Up day

Spring can be a great time of the year for households to undertake clean-up projects, and the city of Burnaby will be lending a hand by running its third annual Spring Clean-Up Day.

The activity, which is free of charge, will be held at the Still Creek Works Yard, located across from the Eco-Centre. The event will allow almost everything to be dropped off, including items not usually accepted at the site.

Burnaby residents may bring bulky items such as old furniture, mattresses, appliances and scrap metal, recyclables, bagged garbage and electronics. Paint, along with solvents and aerosol cans, will be welcome too, in addition to household and car batteries. Anyone with gently used clothing, Books and household goods that still have life in them can be dropped off at the Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver collection station that will be set up on site , and these will help it continue to offer programming to area youth.

Running a targeted event can be easier with support from local Print shops. They can supply Yard Signs and other materials that may be useful in promoting a community activity.

The annual Spring Clean-Up Day for 2026 will run from 7:00 am until 4:00 pm on Saturday, May 30th. It is for Burnaby residents only, and no commercial construction or demolition waste will be accepted.
