Many may think of orchids as exotic plants that require special care, but a Burnaby workshop will show how a species can easily be grown by even those with a brown thumb.
No green thumbs are needed to participate in the Orchid Elegance in a Glass workshop that will be hosted by GARDENWORKS Canada’s Burnaby-Lougheed branch. The registration fee is $89.59, and it includes the plants and other materials needed for the project.
The participants will be working with Phalaenopsis, which are commonly known as “moth orchids” and noted for their ease of care. They will plant them in a clear glass vase, and no floral design experience is needed. Decorative mosses and bark will also be used, and everyone will learn how to care for their new mini-garden. They can ask any questions they have, and this in person session will run for one hour. Refunds will be available up to one day before the scheduled date for the class.
An introductory style workshop offers those who participate a chance to get their feet wet when it comes to a particular hobby. Organizers often turn to local Stationery printers to supply them with Copies of handouts and other learning materials.
This chance to discover how easy going orchids can be will be offered on February 8th. It will begin at 10:00 am at 6250 Lougheed Highway in Burnaby.
