Burnaby class crafts cottage cheese

Cottage cheese is a popular dish, and thanks to an upcoming activity, Burnaby residents will be able to prepare it in their own home kitchen.

The class set for Burnaby Village museum will be beginner friendly, and everyone will work in small groups. The instructor will walk them through the recipes, and the attendees are reminded to bring a container so they can take theirs home with them at the end of the activity.

The instructor will teach how to heat, curdle and then strain a batch of cottage cheese, and while they work, they will learn the science behind the process. Tips for adjusting its texture and how different acids can produce different results will be provided, and while their curds drain, everyone will be invited to share a cottage cheese and pasta dish. The function will run for two and half hours, and will start at 6:00 pm.

Learning a new cookery technique can be a lot of fun when it is done as part of a group, and a workshop provides this experience. Recipe cards to distribute to the attendees can be prepared by a brochure printing company.

This easy introduction to the art and science of crafting cottage cheese from scratch is scheduled for November 19th. It is for those age 16 and up, and at the time this was written, there were still seats available.
