The residents of Burnaby will have the chance to enjoy a range of art pieces when the ‘Volumes: Works on Paper’ exhibit comes to the area later this month.
The event, which runs at Burnaby Art Gallery until the beginning of next year, has been put together to showcase all manner of pieces, with a focus on structural and sculptural works on paper.
The exhibit is set to feature installations, large-scale printmaking, paper-cuts, paintings, and even ceramics. Many of the works by artists such as Pat Morton, Myra Eadie and Margaret May are already in the gallery's permanent collection.
There will be an opening reception, which will give visitors a preview of the exhibit. In addition, Free Family Sunday will give both children and adults the chance to make their own 3D paper creation to take home. A B.A.G. Day in December will feature lunch and a guided tour of the exhibit.
Paper can be a very versatile material and this exhibition in Burnaby is likely to inspire visitors to create their own pieces. Some of those who work for graphic design or printing companies may like to attend for some ideas.
