The Burnaby Village Museum and Carousel will once again be decking the halls for the winter holidays, and everyone is invited to come out and join in the fun.
The festivities will offer visitors an opportunity to take in the celebrations, which combine the old and the new. There will be old-fashioned decorations and activities, as well as hundreds of bright and sparkling lights. Guests can enjoy a traditional singalong, decorative evergreen boughs and wreaths, lights that adjust their hues along to different sounds, theatre performances, strolling musicians, and costumed characters. Children can craft a piece to take home with them, there will be freshly baked cookies and other treats to enjoy, and even Santa himself has made plans to get in on the fun.
To help visitors make the most from their time, a holiday-themed scavenger hunt has been planned, and anyone who wishes to take part can pick up the cards at the gate for this free activity. The lamination process can be used to make sure that items like these can withstand the damp weather that often occurs in early winter.
The festivities will take place from November 19 until January 2. There is no charge for admission, and carousel rides are $2.60 each. More information is available on the museum’s website.
