Good-cause golf suits Burnaby to a tee

The Burnaby Board of Trade's annual golf tournament will be held at the Riverway Golf Course on September 5, beginning at 1:00 pm. Fees are $235 for Board of Trade members and $275 for non-members. Players can also purchase a charity players pack for $50, with all proceeds from the tournament going to the Burnaby Hospice Society.

Golf fees will include 18 rounds of golf, a golf cart, and a buffet dinner, with prizes to be given out to various players during dinner. The tournament will be a perfect networking opportunity for both Board of Trade members and non-members.

Often, a lot of business takes place over golf and this tournament will be no exception. Those who intend to network should make sure that they have enough Business Cards to hand out to everyone they meet. If cards need any changes, are damaged, or are in short supply, a new order of business card printing will definitely be needed from Burnaby printing companies. There will be no ‘hard sell’ on the golf course but business cards can easily be slotted into a golf bag for quick access during play. There will also be many opportunities to exchange business cards over dinner.

The Burnaby Hospice Society is a volunteer-based organization that provides grief counseling, family support, community education, and hospice palliative care. The society serves about 800 families per year and there is no cost to use their services. Being a worthwhile organization, the Burnaby business community is likely to come out in force to support it.
