FortisBC is looking into finding better ways of providing the most up-to-date information about power outages to its customers in Burnaby and the rest of the province as well.
According to the company, it currently uses Twitter to let the public know when there are blackouts or other disruptions to power services. Due to customer demand, it is looking into finding other ways to provide them with this information in the most convenient fashion possible.
FortisBC’s Communications Advisor, Nicole Bogdanovic, noted that the enterprise is currently investigating the possible tools it could use to keep the public up to date. Part of the information collection process will be a research study that is open to Burnaby residents.
Once the focus group has been organized, the Burnaby portion of the website usability study will take place at the company’s offices in that city. Members of the public are welcome to apply to participate, and those who are selected may receive compensation for doing so. Being a current customer is not a requirement to be chosen to take part. A printer that provides binding services will be able to supply bound Copies of the final report compiling information obtained from focus groups such as this to its customers and other stakeholders.
Further details about the study, and a link to for those who wish to become involved, can be found on the FortisBC website.
