Celebratory art exhibit opens in Burnaby

According to the Burnaby Arts Council, 2014 was another successful year and the organization is hosting a special exhibition to help celebrate.

Their 2014 ‘Year in Review’ exhibit will be housed in the Deer Lake Gallery until January 10th. It will display contemporary pieces of art created by both individuals and groups during the past year using a wide variety of different styles. There is everything from paintings to sculptures and a whole lot more.

An event was held in early December to mark the opening day of the show, which featured live entertainment and light refreshments for those who came out. Many of those who had contributed artistic works to the gallery through the year were on hand to mingle with each other, as well as the members of the public who came out for the festivities. There was no charge for admission, and the parking was also free.

According to the Arts Council, the Deer Lake Gallery gives space to local artists who may not be able to have their works displayed at the larger Burnaby Art Gallery. In 2014, it received a large portion of its funding through the Parks, Recreation and Commission of Burnaby.

An event like this provides an opportunity for locals to learn about the artistic talent in their community. A Stationery printing company can create Invitations for the exhibit, as well as Posters and other items that advertise it throughout the city.
