After a stressful year, a little bit of self care may be in order, and a Burnaby area workshop will offer a way to help make that happen.
Vancouver’s MakerLabs has a class on its springtime agenda that will teach how to make a selection of toiletries as well as a soy candle. The ingredients used will meet FDA standards, and their cost is included in the registration price.
The participants will gain some hands on experience making a mint flavoured lip balm as well as a set of scented aromatherapy bath bombs along with the candle. Darla, who is a member of MakerLabs, will be the instructor for the sessions and it was noted that all levels of crafting experience are welcome. Masks must be worn, and gloves will be issued to each attendee. The workshop's scheduled run time is three hours, and everyone is asked to be on site 15 minutes ahead of time.
An activity like this gives members of the public a chance to enjoy themselves while learning something new. Offering participants printed handouts that include the instructions for making the items will allow them to continue creating at home, and Stationery printers will be able to supply them.
MakerLabs has made plans to offer this learning session on April 21st. Tickets to be included start at $89.07 each.
