Burnaby sets summer outdoor movie schedule

Burnaby families looking for some summer fun may want to save the date for outdoor movie nights that will be screened during the season at two local parks.

Both Civic Square and Confederation Park will be hosting Summer Cinema instalments, and they will take place on evenings during the month of August. They will all start at dusk, and will be shown rain or shine.

Those interested in being part of the fun can bring a folding chair or blanket, and both parking and admission will be free. Attendees are also encouraged to pack a bag or cooler of their favourite movie snacks and beverages, and before the curtain goes up, the attendees can enjoy learning about Coast Salish games and culture. This will be led by a First Nation’s educator. Costumed characters will also be on hand, and there will be access to portable washrooms on site.

Many communities offer summer movie or concert nights under the stars, and they are often quite popular. A poster printing company can help get the word out by preparing marketing materials, and many of its options can be budget friendly.

The Summer Cinema schedule for Civic Square has dates set for August 15th, 22nd and 29th, while Confederation Park’s are scheduled for August 16th and August 23rd. More information is available on the city's website, which also includes a contact email for the organizers.
