Burnaby runs Repair Caf session

The repair café movement helps to both save money and keep unwanted items out of landfills, and a Burnaby activity will provide local residents with a chance to get involved.

Anyone in the city with clothes, small appliances, bikes or electronics that are in need of fixing can drop by the Repair Café. It is scheduled for the south location of Burnaby Neighbourhood House, which is located on the third floor of 4460 Beresford Street.

During the session, there will be qualified volunteers on hand to help, and they both repair items and teach the attendees how to do so themselves. Each member of the public can bring one item, and the event will run for four hours. While participating, the attendees can meet other community members, and they will learn how taking small steps like attending a repair café can make a big impact.

Grassroots-level projects can often spark an interest in living a greener lifestyle. Print shops can provide a range of printing options that are environmentally friendly, and will also be able to supply clients with logo design and other branding services.

Burnaby’s next Repair Café has been scheduled for November 30th, and it will welcome the public from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. Anyone who needs more details or has questions about accessibility can contact Lynn at Burnaby Neighbourhood House.
