The city of Burnaby recently released its schedule of spring and summer clean-ups, and as many hands make light work, the planners are hoping for lots of community engagement.
Taking part in a neighbourhood activity like this gives the public a chance to become stakeholders in their community, and the city has scheduled five clean-up dates for this year. A new spring session has been added for 2023, and this is being presented in partnership with the Lower Mainland Green Team.
The late May instalment will see volunteers take to Byrne Creek Ravine Park, and all ages and abilities are welcome to roll up their sleeves and show the site some love and care. Litter pickers, gloves and trash receptacles will be supplied, and all the participants will need to bring is themselves and a willing spirit.
When they arrive at the venue, the registered helpers will meet up at Ron McLean Park on Hedley avenue, and registration for this can be completed online. A company that prepares Letterheads and other personalized business documents will be able to supply waivers that are used during volunteer-driven events such as this.
This spring clean for Byrne Ravine Creek Park will be taking place on May 27th. The other clean-up dates are June 24th, July 29th, August 26th and September 30th. More information and a chance to register are available on the City of Burnaby website.
