As the month of August draws to a close, a Burnaby neighbourhood will be looking forward to fall by welcoming local residents for a community fair.
The Willingdon Community Fair will soon be making its return for another year, and it will provide a venue for the public to connect with a wide selection of community service groups, sports teams and other options for recreation. Live music, a mayoral address and other activities are all on the agenda, and the fun will take place at the Willingdon Community Centre.
The evening will open with a live musical performance by SPENDA, and this will be followed by remarks from the mayor. A fitness demonstration is in the works, and everyone can visit the booths, speak with the various group representatives and learn more about what makes their community special. At 8:00 pm, everyone can take their seat for the family-friendly movie screening, and food trucks, face painting and bounce houses will wrap up the experience.
Thanks to the advent of big screen technology, many communities offer outdoor movie nights during the summer months. A poster printing company can prepare cinema-style Posters to help raise public awareness of these events.
The date for the Willingdon Community Fair & Movie Night will be August 30th. The activities have a scheduled start time of 5:15 pm.
