Burnaby invited to take in RCMP musical ride

Members of the RCMP in their traditional dress uniform of red serge are one of Canada’s best known symbols, as is their musical ride, and Burnaby will soon be playing host to a staging of this popular event.

This year marks both the country’s 150th birthday and the 125th birthday for the RCMP, and representatives of this national police force will be participating in this well-known mounted event, where police officers on horseback engage in choreographed routines set to music.

The musical ride will not be the only attraction of the day. There will also be displays and an assortment of other activities, with preshow entertainment being provided courtesy of the RCMP’s E Division Pipes and Drums and also Grupo Axe Capoeira. The proceeds from the sale of tickets for the show will be contributed to Burnaby Neighborhood House and Honour House Society, and it has been brought to the community courtesy of the support from various community partners, including the Federal Government, Hilton Vancouver Metrodown, Burnabynow and 93.7 Jr FM radio. A local Print company can create Calendars, Posters, programs and other items that can be sold as souvenirs of an event such as this, which can help it to raise even more money for the not-for-profit groups it supports.

This staging to the musical ride will be performed on August 18th at Swangard Stadium. More details can be obtained by visiting the city’s website.
