Burnaby has organized a series of Community Cleanup Events, and these are being hosted in partnership with Green Teams of Canada’s Lower Mainland Green Team.
The sessions will give those who take part a chance to meet others who care about the environment, try new things and gain satisfaction knowing they have done a good turn for Mother Nature.
The activities will each be held at a different Burnaby venue, and they will begin at 9:00 am. Registration is required for planning purposes, and while kids are welcome to come along, they will need to be accompanied by their parents or guardian. Safety Vests, gloves, Bags and litter pickers will be supplied, and the helpers will be divided into smaller groups of between 10 and 20 people. A designated leader will be on hand to make sure each session stays on track, and questions can be directed to 604-294-7972.
Even a small community cleanup or other environmental stewardship project may make a big impact. T-Shirts for team leaders and other custom-designed Promotional Products for such initiatives can be ordered from a local printing services company.
