It is estimated that one in four British Columbia residents will deal with mental illness at some point in their life, and a Burnaby event will give the public a way to smash the stigma surrounding mental health.
BCG Counselling Group will be bringing back Done in a Day for 2021, and it will offer the public a way to support those living with mental illness and have fun while doing so. Each registrant will be asked to challenge themselves by taking part in a hike, or, if they wish, they can create their own “audacious act” to raise both funds and awareness.
Those who are interested can hike for themselves, in honour of a loved one or just to make the public more aware, and whether they hike a mountain trail, go for a walk or hit the treadmill, all support will be appreciated. As they take part, they are asked to remember the uphill struggle often faced by those living with a mental illness, and they can share photos of their challenge on social media.
Organizers of an event like this often choose to distribute Promotional Products to the participants who complete the challenge.
The 2021 Done in A Day fundraiser is now open for registration. It will run from July 24th to August 2nd.
