Experienced Burnaby divers who would like to take their skills to the next level may want to participate in a local course planned for this summer.
Ocean Quest Dive Company has made arrangements to offer the PADI Rescue Divers course this August, and the learning will take place through a series of four classes. The class will teach skills that may be used by a diver to rescue themselves or others, and it will include both classroom and in-the-water experience.
The instruction will be designed to help increase diver confidence, and they will learn how to undertake in-the-water rescues and manage a variety of accidents. The course will be delivered using four knowledge development topics, as well as two rescue scenarios and exercises so that the students will be able to put what they have learned into practice. A separate course that covers CPR training may be packaged along with the dive course for anyone who needs it.
Continuing education classes such as this one provide a way for adults to keep on learning. Manuals, certificates of completion and other materials required for such an activity can be created by local Stationery printers.
Ocean Quest Dive Company will be offering its PADI Rescue Diver training starting on August 2nd. The venue can be found at 107-3790 Canada Way in Burnaby.
