The Burnaby area is home to many species of birds, and the public is invited to attend an online activity that will give them the full scoop on these feathered members of their local community.
Vancouver Botanical Gardens Association (VBGA) has teamed up with the Vancouver Avian Research Centre (VARC) to welcome learners for the Supporting Wild Birds Through Winter workshop. It will explore the challenges birds face during the colder weather, as well as how they have adapted to cope with these conditions, either by migrating or staying put.
The facilitator will share details about how birds deal with the cold, as well as what people can do to help them. Everyone will discover a variety of ways that they can make their own yards more friendly to birds, and they will also be taught tips for identifying the species they see.
Identification guides, as well as an assortment of Promotional Products, can be mailed out to anyone who takes part in this type of activity so that they will be able to continue to make new discoveries after it is over.
The VARC and VBGA have invited everyone who is interested to register now for the Supporting Wild Birds Through Winter online workshop. It will take place on January 23rd at 10:00am, and the registration fee is $22.
