An upcoming fundraiser will give Burnaby residents a chance to enjoy the best in local craft beer with their friends in a casual setting, while also raising money for people in their community.
The first ever Burnaby Beer Festival will feature an opportunity to sample the latest offerings from Fraser Valley and Lower Mainland microbreweries, while listening to live music and trying offerings from popular food trucks.
Burnaby Community Services will play host to the event. According to the firm’s executive director, it is hoped that this will provide a more causal experience than the typical “black tie” style function, and attract a younger crowd. So far, six breweries have agreed to take part in the celebration, which is scheduled to take part in Spacekraft, located in the Sovereign high-rise, situated at 4501 Kingsway. Along with the beer, there will be food provided by K&J Food Truck, and music by We Destroy Tokyo and Sandro Camerin.
The beer festival is set to take place on November 13, with the price for admission being set at $35. Money raised will be used to help seniors and low-income families in the community.
