While at first glance, using a table saw may be a daunting prospect, a Burnaby area class will give those who are new to this power tool the knowledge and skills to craft with confidence.
Vancouver’s Maker Labs has prepared its “Table Saw 101” class to teach the fundamentals of using this powerful piece of woodworking equipment. Safety and maintenance will be included in the discussion, and the group has noted that it is a prerequisite for using the crosscut table saw.
The students will learn how to change and zero the blade, and once they are confident, they will be guided through making their first cuts. They will work with a variety of materials, such as medium-density fibreboard and plywood, and the fee for the event will need to be paid upon registration.
To help keep all the learners safe, the staff will be following COVID-19 prevention protocols. The attendees will need to do so as well, and masks and hand washing will be enforced.
