Blues festival to return to Burnaby for 14th year

The Burnaby Blues and Roots Festival is returning to the area for one day only next month.

The festival will feature multiple stages and numerous world-class musical acts, including Blue Rodeo, Shakura S'Aida, Jon and Roy, and Brickhouse. Guests are advised to bring their own chairs and blankets in order to enjoy the performances; coolers are also permitted.

There will also be a Blues Family Area set up, which will feature children's activities such as art classes, face painting, and guitar making; there will be a climbing structure on site as well.

The Artisan's Village at the festival will feature handmade items such as jewelry, ceramics, paintings and clothing. The vendors will be set up in a communal tent and each will have 10x10ft of space. The rental fee is $175 and vendors must provide their own signage. No doubt many of the vendors will be designing and producing those Signs with the help of Burnaby printing companies. They might also want to invest in banner printing services to make their area more appealing to passers-by.

The 14th annual Burnaby Blues and Roots Festival will take place at Deer Lake Park on August 10 from 12:00 - 10:00pm; the Blues Family Area will be open from 12:00 - 7:00pm. Tickets are $70 in advance or $75 at the door; a party pack of four tickets can also be purchased for $200 in advance. For more information about the festival, call 604-291-6864.
