A bald eagle that had gotten caught up in a set up for playing frisbee golf near Burnaby has been rescued and has once again taken to the sky.
The large bird of prey was found with his feathers tangled up around a wire, but according to Martina Versteeg, who is the bird care supervisor with the Orphaned Wildlife Rehabilitation Society, they were able to free the eagle. He was checked out thoroughly, found to not have any major injuries, and needed only some TLC and rest so he could recover and be set free. A company that prints business Forms can design and Print custom record sheets for such an organization.
Ms. Versteeg noted that the rescue organization wanted to return him to the wild as soon as possible, as the bald eagles are returning to the area and looking for their mates so they can begin nesting. They feel that, due to his size and strength, he is likely part of a breeding pair and his mate may be looking for him.
She further went on to say that while the eagle getting caught up in the wire was a fluke, there are things people can do to help make sure this doesn’t happen again to another bird. The wires can be covered in rubber that is brightly colored so they are more visible, which will help to make frisbee golf safer for all, including the local feathered friends.Get a Free Quote for Forms Get a Free Quote for Print
