Arthritis is a painful condition that can affect a person’s quality of life, and an event that will be taking place in Burnaby will share tips and other ideas that can help someone living with this condition to live a healthy and active lifestyle.
The workshop, which will be delivered by the BC branch of the Arthritis Society, will be conducted in Mandarin so that those for whom this is their first language will be able to get the most they can from the information provided. It will cover an assortment of topics, including an overview of what arthritis is, its causes, treatments and strategies that a person can use to help manage their condition.
The facilitator will discuss themes likes nutrition, exercise techniques that allow someone with joint pain to keep moving, joint protection and pain relief. There is no cost to participate, but the number of seats that are available is limited. A local printer can supply Brochures and other informational publications for distribution during a function like this.
This event has been planned for the Tommy Douglas branch of the Burnaby Public Library on October 12, starting at 6:30 pm. Anyone who is interested in signing up to participate, or who wants to know more, can do so by visiting the Burnaby Now website.
