Lethbridge to dance once again for 20th edition of charity ball
A Lethbridge charity event will be celebrating 20 years of fundraising this fall, as the Harvest Moon Ball will be holding a special anniversary edition.
The event takes the form of a traditional gala with live music and entertainment, cocktails, and a gourmet meal before the dance floor opens up. There will also be live and silent auctions for items contributed by local businesses and individuals. Funds raised through the event and the auction will go towards Covenant Health, which helps to fund health centres such as Buffalo Grace Manor and Martha’s House, for seniors and other people needing continuing care. These centres serve over 400 residents; money will be apportioned to where it is needed most.
For its 20th edition, the Harvest Moon Ball has set the goal of raising $200,000. That money will come from ticket purchases, auction proceeds, and sponsorships from local businesses. The Ball is looking for local sponsors as well as volunteers to support the event. Fundraisers such as this are often community efforts, relying on everything from local restaurants for food to community print shops for banners and advertising. Organizers are hoping that the anniversary and the prospect of a romantic evening under the stars will draw a high turnout.
