The Southern Alberta Summer Games will be returning to the Lethbridge area this July, aiming to promote amateur athletics in the region.
The events will be hosted in Bow Island and the County of Forty Mile. The competitions welcome people of all ages and abilities for fun and exercise. This year will feature over 25 events, including competitions from previous years as well as new additions like barrel racing, boccia, cornhole and Frisbee golf. Participants can enter to run 3, 5 or 10 kilometres; play 3-on-3 basketball; and more.
Residents from the City of Lethbridge are invited to sign up for Team Lethbridge, with registration including participation in up to three different competitions and a team T-shirt. Athletic events such as this often use local printing services to create uniforms, awards and more to commemorate the occasion.
Team events such as baseball and mini-soccer (based in the municipality of Raymond) will include competitions based on age group, while other events will be all-ages with awards for the top youth finishers. Competitors can sign up as a team with friends or sign up as individuals. Over 200 athletes will participate from the 13 regions of Southern Alberta, in what has become the province’s longest-running annual sporting event.
The 2026 Southern Alberta Summer Games will take place across the County of Forty Mile from July 8 to 11.
