The event features eight men’s teams playing in a double-elimination tournament across four days, and serves as the playoffs for the Canadian College Baseball Conference. The tournament features players from Lethbridge’s own Prairie Baseball Academy, as well as squads representing schools such as the University of Fraser Valley and University of Calgary.
Each day of the series will also include shoulder programming, such as live music, family-friendly entertainment and giveaways. Last year’s event included a pancake breakfast, Seniors Day, PBA Alumni Night, a “Summer Starts Now” party and Mom’s Day. There daily 50/50 raffles and other prize drawings.
Games will be broadcast online through the HN Live platform. The CCWS is one of many sporting events that use booklet and brochure printing to create programs that provide information about the participating teams and athletes and serve as mementos of the event. Advertising for the series emphasizes its community nature:
“...there’s something for everyone—from die-hard baseball fans to casual spectators. Whether you’re cheering on the hometown Prairie Baseball Academy or visiting for the weekend, the CCWS is a can’t-miss celebration of sport, spirit, and community in southern Alberta.”
The 2026 Canadian College Baseball World Series will take place at Spitz Stadium in Lethbridge from May 22 to 24.
