Lethbridge Folk Club presents November concerts

The Lethbridge Folk Club has announced its fall programming, which includes two November concerts featuring a variety of musical styles.

The month will kick off by a performance by artists James Keelaghan and Jez Lowe, both veterans of the folk music scene. Keelaghan is a Juno and Canadian Folk Music Award-winning artist known for songs like “Jenny Bryce” and his performance of traditional standards. Lowe is a UK-based musician known for appearing with iconic groups like Fairport Convention and The Dubliners.

The Folk Club will follow up with a concert headlined by The Lovebullies, who will be playing “high octane vintage pop rock.” The group are Calgary locals who are known for their fast-paced, visually dynamic shows. Veronica Raine will open the show, playing her work that spans genres ranging from folk to grunge rock.

Both concerts aim to be part of the Lethbridge Folk Club’s mission to host live music in southern Alberta. Ticket proceeds and sale of Cuppers’ Gnarly Notes 47 Coffee will go towards supporting the nonprofit organization, which has been operating for over 75 years. Local concerts like these ones often use methods like poster printing and radio advertising to help connect with local music lovers.

The Lethbridge Folk Club’s presentation of James Keelaghan and Jez Lowe will take place on November 6, with The Lovebullies following on the 21st. Both shows will take place at Dieppe Hall at Army, Navy Air Force Veterans Club in Lethbridge.
