Lethbridge market to return for spring

A pop-up marketplace will return to Lethbridge this April, aiming to showcase the best of local artisans and small businesses.

The Lethbridge Handmade Market typically occurs multiple times per year, and it features attractions like food trucks, live music, arts and crafts workshops and activities for kids. The April edition will see social distancing protocols in place, but it will still feature over 100 exhibitors.

Visitors will also be able to win over $2,000 worth of products in shopping sprees and door prizes. The market has been running since 2016 and has increased the number of participants over time. Vendors are selected through a competitive application process.

Past marketplaces have featured local businesses and creators like Andrea Art Designs and Little Nicaragua Coffee Company. The theme of the April market will be “Succulents & Gemstones”, but it will feature a wide variety of products. The event will also feature a Kids Create Station, as well as Make-and-Take workshops aimed at adults.

Marketplaces like this can often help small businesses and independent artisans make connections by distributing promotional products that will help give them long-term business.

The spring edition of Lethbridge Handmade Market will take place on April 10 at the Main Pavilion of Exhibition Park. An exact list of vendors will be released in the build-up to the event.
