Lethbridge food fest to turn up heat

Lethbridge will play host to the Taco & Hot Sauce Festival this May, bringing together local vendors from across southern Alberta and foodies who like it hot.

The festival will feature food vendors offering tacos and other Latin American food, as well as brewers offering take-home bottles of hot sauce ranging from mild to extreme. There will also be a stage for live musical performances and other entertainment. Lethbridge’s own Pure Power Wrestling Association will be hosting live matches with a lucha libre theme. Dylan Lowry, owner of Beyond Hot, will be hosting a hot sauce challenge to determine which sauces truly are the hottest, and who can best handle the heat.

Confirmed food vendors for the event include La Gloria, Chef Oscar, and Milagro Tequila. In addition to the food, adult visitors can enjoy Latin American drinks like cerveza, margaritas, and tequila. The primary sponsor of the event is Lethbridge-area radio station CJOC 94.1. Food and culture festivals like this often use methods like radio advertising and flyer printing to help reach a wider audience. The Taco and Hot Sauce Festival has previously been hosted in Lethbridge, but this year’s edition will feature a new indoor location.

The 2025 Taco & Hot Sauce Festival will take place at the Agri-food Hub & Trade Centre in Lethbridge on May 3.
