Lethbridge event to celebrate art

The Allied Arts Councils will be holding its annual Arts Days Lethbridge event series this September, with a month full of events aiming to highlight local creativity.

The event will include murals being placed in windows throughout downtown Lethbridge for three weeks, with walking tours scheduled to highlight the installations. Casa Lethbridge will be hosting an opening night party as well as an Indigenous-led fashion show, under the theme “Fall Into Culture”. The fashion show has become a staple of the local community over recent years. Fans of old-school music may enjoy the Big Band Bop concert hosted in Rotary Square.

The OWL will host a “Big Ideas” public art talk as part of the festivities on September 23. Arts Days will conclude with the Keeping it Reel Film Festival, showcasing a diverse array of documentary films, and a commemoration of Orange Shirt Day.

The event will be supported by volunteers, artists and models from throughout the Lethbridge community. Local arts events like this often use flyer printing services and social media to help reach out to the community for support. The events are hosted by the AAC with the co-operation with member organizations, and is designed to coincide with Alberta’s Month of the Artist.

The 2025 Arts Days events will take place in Lethbridge from September 2 to 28 at various locations throughout the city.
