Lethbridge asked to dig deep for the hungry this holiday season

A charity on Lethbridge has launched its annual appeal for donations of food for families in need over the holiday season.

For the past decade, the Lethbridge Herald Charitable Foundation’s Food for Thought campaign has sought to make a difference.

The foundation, which operates throughout the year, puts on a special push during the holiday season. It raises funds that are used to help pay for school breakfast programs throughout southern Alberta. This makes sure that all children have a chance to start their day with a good meal, which the foundation notes is a fundamental part of being able to learn.

Anyone who would like to make a donation is invited to stop by The Herald office on weekdays from 8:30 until 5:00. Alternatively, contributions can be mailed in to P.O. Box 670, Lethbridge, AB, T1J 3Z7. All donations of over $5.00 will be issued a tax receipt. Twice weekly, the updated totals will be given by the Herald and donors will be recognized and thanked for their help in its Food for Thought column. Printers can design Postcards that can be mailed out to area residents letting them know more about the campaign and what they can do to help make it a success.

The end date for the campaign is set for December 17th. Anyone who would like to find out more about how they can help is asked to call 403-380-7583. They can also visit http://www.lhfoodforthought.ca.
