The touring Fiesta Extravaganza event will appear in Lethbridge this July, aiming to highlight Filipino culture and engage people from all walks of life.
The festival will feature live cultural performances and demonstrations. There will be dance performances with colourful costumes rooted in Filipino history, as well as musical performances featuring both classic and modern songs. Past festivals have included Asian artists like Kim Chiu, Erik Santos and Lani Misalucha. There will also be vendors offering Southeast Asian food, crafts, clothing and other cultural items. Visitors can also partake in popular Filipino games like palo sebo and other hands-on activities.
This is the 7th year Fiesta Extravaganza has toured Canada, with destinations including Hamilton, Montreal and Miramichi, but it will be the first time appearing in Lethbridge, which will be the only Alberta stop on the tour.
This year’s festival will also feature the edition of a Farmers Market in select cities, as well as a Job Fair, highlighting local employers within the Filipino-Canadian community and beyond. Attendees of fairs like this typically use CVs and Business Cards to help make a stronger first impression. The expansion is meant to commemorate the 75th anniversary of bilateral relations between Canada and the Philippines.
The 2025 Fiesta Extravaganza tour will appear in Lethbridge on July 19 and 20 at Henderson Lake Park.
