Family festival offers something for everyone

The Whoop Up Days family festival is taking place in Lethbridge for five days this August. It is presented by VisitLethbridge.com.

The festival kick off will be a Texas toast breakfast on August 16th from 8:30am - 10:30am. Tickets are $2 each and the money will go to a local charity.

The official start will be the parade that will be held on the first day of the festival. There will be a wide variety of activities for the public to choose from during the event. There are set to be musical performances by such artists as Aaron Pritchett and Loverboy, and a pro rodeo will also be taking place for most of the festival.

Local businesses will have the opportunity to showcase and sell their merchandise in the marketplace. Some may also want to participate in the business decoration challenge; prizes will be awarded for best interior decorations and best exterior.

The festival is also going to feature a midway with rides and games, the West Coast Lumberjack Show, an All Nations Tipi Village, and reverse bungee jumping. Children will be able to enjoy a petting zoo.

Lethbridge Print companies often help to advertise events such as this by providing items like Flyers or Signs, which are then displayed in various parts of the city.

The Whoop Up Days event is taking place from August 19th – 23rd at Exhibition Park. Admission is $12 in advance or $15 at the gate; unlimited midway rides are $40 in advance or $55 at the gate.
