Exhibition Park to host expanded holiday market

Lethbridge’s Exhibition Park will host its annual Big Christmas Farmers’ Market and Tradeshow this November, with the event now split into two separate weekends to allow for social distancing and more focused events.

Big Christmas is typically a combination farmers’ market and trade show, with both featuring holiday components aimed to help people get a head start on their shopping. This year, one weekend will be a special version of the Lethbridge’s biweekly farmer’s market, with a focus on baked goods, ingredients essential for holiday cooking and special handcrafted goods. The trade show will feature a greater variety of products from local vendors, including gifts for all ages and taste buds, alongside decorations and other Christmas products.

Last year’s Big Christmas featured vendors like Shooting Starfish jewellery, Pink Zebra candles, gluten-free treats from Gail’s Worry Free Baking and customized Signs and artwork from Bold Beautiful Chalking. There was also a miniature Christmas village, complete with Santa Claus.

This year will see some changes due to ongoing social distancing regulations, but will still feature over 150 vendors, with names to be announced in the run-up to the event. Seasonal markets like these can be a boon to local small businesses, which often use business card printing to encourage happy customers to purchase from them year-round.

Big Christmas will hold its farmers market on November 13 and 14, and the tradeshow on the 27th and 28th. All events will take place at Exhibition Park.
