The giveaway was the idea of Justin Burch, owner of Vintage Towing Leduc. Burch says he was motivated to benefit the community and support people who have gone through hardships in 2020. After Burch’s family’s house burnt down eight years ago, the community rallied to help them recover, and Burch now says he wants to give back and embrace that same kind of community spirit. He added:
“I want people to nominate someone [who] has been through a bad time, they’re a single mom or dad or family that has really had some hardships and they deserve a good vehicle. Then myself, my drivers and that person would surprise the individual who earned the vehicle.”
Burch and the employees of Vintage Towing will be taking nominations for residents of the city of Leduc or Leduc County who have endured hardship and could best make use of a new vehicle, with a particular interest in families or single parents. The vehicle will be used but will be cleaned, have its oil changed and will have assured mechanical quality.
Charitable giving in a community like this is often advertised with poster printing, highlighting important causes that can help to bring people together.
Vintage Towing will be accepting nominations for the vehicle recipient until November 5.
