The event aims to connect not-for-profit organizations with local residents who want to get involved. Organizations will have booths and displays representing what they do and what kind of volunteers can get involved. Exhibitors at events like this often use Business Cards and QR Codes to help continue their connections into the future.
One of Volunteer Fest’s main attractions will be the Award Ceremony for Citizens of Distinctions & Influencers. Outstanding volunteers, businesses and groups will receive awards in a variety of categories from local luminaries. There will be live entertainment provided by local artists, and food and refreshments hosted by Kosmos.
The event is hosted by the city in conjunction with local sponsors to recognize and encourage volunteerism in Leduc. Last year’s edition featured a silent auction, with proceeds benefitting Dylan’s Foundation for Overdose Awareness. Promotional material for the festival says that:
“VolunteerFest models the City of Leduc’s initiative to support and celebrate the volunteers and outstanding citizens in our community. Our hope is that this celebration will act as a catalyst for future volunteerism amongst our youth.”
The 2026 edition of VolunteerFest will take place on September 13 at the Stone Barn Garden. Admission will be free for visitors.
