What's Happening in Leduc, AB…

A Motel in Leduc recently held an open house for members of the public to learn more about the upcoming development of the Royal Cubera land area.

Plans for the parcel of land include a business, commercial and light industrial park that will be developed with good environmental practices in mind. There will be plenty of wetlands, green belts and treed areas to provide homes for birds, small animals and other wildlife.

The 4,000 hectare area is located in Leduc County, just minutes from Edmonton’s southern border. This puts it within easy reach of the residential areas of Leduc, as well as Edmonton International Airport, highway two and the Canada Pacific inter modal yard. This will provide a good customer base, as well as a source of labor and supplies.

It is hoped that this will give a welcome financial boost to the area, and that there will also be a creation of many spin-off jobs and other economic benefits that are not necessarily confined to the new park. An example of this would be companies that provide business card printing. These will be required by the many businesses that are expected to locate themselves within Royal Cubera Park.

Information collected at the open house from members of the public and other stakeholders will be reviewed by the land developers and used when formulating their plans. There is another similar event expected in the near future, where residents and businesses can have further input into the development and planning process.
