Canadian printer Quad/Graphics is refocusing its operation at its Edmonton, Alberta plant, and brochure printers in nearby Leduc may be interested in noting this development. The goal of the printing company is to establish an increasingly efficient and adaptable manufacturing platform, one that allows the company to bring greater value to its customers.
Besides refocusing the operations at its Edmonton plant to serve directory and retail insert clients only, Quad/Graphics also is closing its Quebec plant in St.-Jean-sur-Richelieu and plotting to spend $23 million on its manufacturing and infrastructure platform.
The president and CEO of Quad/Graphics, Joel Quadracci, stated that the printing company is dedicated to Canada. He went on to say that the company is organizing their operations to bring consumers the greatest quality on the most effective manufacturing platform coast to coast, and also closest to the end users of customers. Quadracci's efforts at restructuring aim to make the Quad/Graphics’ position in Canada all the stronger, and hope to improve the quality of the company’s platform.
The aim of the $23 million investment is to increase the quality of the equipment at the company for the purpose of advancing turnaround time and improving the infrastructure. The investment will also go to Quad/Graphics’ workforce, providing certain employees with enhanced education and training for regular improvement.
