What's Happening in Leduc, AB…

Leduc residents have been reminded that, after the holidays have come and gone for another year, there is still one more gift to give that could help many people and even save a life.

Canadian Blood Services’ mobile clinic will be rolling in to town, and the hope is that many people from the local area will be willing to take some time in their day and make a donation. These will be collected and used to help people suffering from a variety of illnesses, such as hemophilia and autoimmune disorders. It is also used in emergencies, during surgeries, to help premature babies, and in many other ways.

The time required to make a contribution is about one hour. Each person who would like to do so is asked to bring along ID. When they arrive at the clinic, they will be greeted and asked to complete a short questionnaire. After this, their hemoglobin will be checked, as will their blood pressure, and if all is well, it will be time for the donation. Once this is complete, the donor will be able to rest for a few minutes and enjoy a drink and light snack before heading out for the rest of their day. Brochure printers can be called upon to produce informational materials that can be given out during an event like this.

The clinic will be held in the Leduc Recreation Centre on January 26th. All donations will be very much appreciated, and more details can be found on the Canadian Blood Services website.
