Leduc to celebrate Canada Day in style

The City of Leduc will be holding a number of community events this Canada Day to help celebrate local culture.

The holiday will kick off with a pancake breakfast, followed by a number of family activities hosted at Leduc’s historic Grain Elevator. Activities include face painting, inflatable attractions, and face painting, in addition to educational tours of the grain elevator and antique farm equipment. A short walk away will be the annual car show, featuring classic and rare cars stretching down mainstream. There will also be live entertainment and food trucks on the car show site. The Rotary Club of Leduc will be holding a Summer Splash, allowing children to cool off in its spray park.

The day will conclude with the Canada Day Community Concert. The show will be headlined by Canadian country music star Corb Lund, with supporting artist ANNIKA. The concert area will also feature beer gardens, food trucks, and wandering performer FloWarrior. The night will conclude with a classic fireworks display. Community events like this often use methods like flyer printing and social media to help bring people together. All events will be free to attend and take place rain or shine.

The City of Leduc’s Canada Day celebrations will take place throughout the city on July 1, with the Community Concert and Fireworks happening at the Leduc Recreation Centre east parking lot.
