A Leduc County racetrack will host a weekend of monster truck and demolition action this August.
The event is named “COVID CRUSHER Monsters & Mayhem”, marking Canada’s gradual return to normalcy and large-scale events. The event will include races and a freestyle competition between multiple monster trucks with names like Crude Behaviour, Rat Nasty, Anger Management and Rough Neck.
There will also be a freestyle motocross competition, as motorcycle riders look to complete tricks and jumps. Other events include a crane drop, jet car burn, school bus races to mark the end of summer and a fireworks display.
The races will be preceded by a Pit Party aimed at a family audience, allowing visitors to directly interact with trucks and their drivers. The pre-show will include games, prizes and ice cream. The event is making use of poster printing, providing a limited-edition keepsake poster of the event.
Additional events and seating are set to be added, including a private skybox section. The truck rally joins the races and other events that are popular summer activities in Alberta. There will be one event per day across a weekend, with each running approximately two and a half hours.
The COVID CRUSHER Monsters & Mayhem event will take place from August 20 to 22 at Leduc County’s Castrol Raceway.
