The end of summer in Leduc will bring an event that combines food, fun and fundraising.
Locals are invited to put on their lederhosen or German-style dress and come to Oktoberfest, which is being hosted by the Black Gold Health Foundation. It will be an evening of authentic German food, beer, wine, and more. There will be prize draws, door prizes, a silent auction, and after dinner, there will be music and dancing. A company that produces custom Drinkware can create special beer steins and other glassware for an event such as this.
Funds raised through the event will be used to help support the CT Scanner Campaign at the Leduc Community Hospital. Last year, it was able to provide $32,668.63 to the health care facility. Organizers of the event are seeking sponsors from the community, and several different levels of sponsorship are available, ranging from “Barrel” at $10,000 or more, to “Friend”, for those who are able to make a gift in kind contribution or donation.
The event will take place starting at 5:30 pm on September 24. Dinner will be at 6:30 pm, followed by the dance at 9:00 pm. It will be held at the Leduc Recreation Centre, and ticket prices have been set at $75 each. Each table will accommodate eight people, and table reservations are available.
