Leduc musical brothers to have hometown show

The Melisizwe Brothers, a Leduc trio that has received international recognition, will be returning to the stage in their hometown this October.

The group consists of brothers Marc, Seth, and Zachary, who will be performing a combination of original songs and hits from the Nickelodeon reality competition show America’s Most Musical Family, of which they were crowned winners. The brothers have also had success on YouTube with renditions of everything from the Canadian national anthem to classic pop hits and have been featured on other American television programs like The Steve Show, Showtime at the Apollo, and New Year in Times Square.

The two nights of concerts will be the Melisizwe Brothers’ first live shows in over a year and a half. The event is part of a “pre-concert tour” to prepare the trio for a return to regular touring. The concert will also feature a variety of local artists in supporting roles. The concert will be preceded by a “red carpet” event two hours before showtime. Performances like this, often advertised through flyer printing and local media, can draw special interest when an artist or group can perform in front of a hometown crowd.

The Melisizwe Brothers will perform in Leduc at the Maclab Centre for the Performing Arts on October 19 and 20. The intimate venue is located on the campus of Leduc Composite High School.
