The Leduc Community Hospital Foundation (LCHF) will mark its 30th birthday this year with a special hockey exhibition game to raise funds for local healthcare.
The Charity Hockey Classic event is held in partnership with the 840 CFCW Critters, a touring hockey team that raises money for various charitable causes. The Critters are also celebrating their 30th anniversary this year, and have raised over $1.2 million in the past three decades.
The LCHF will be represented by a Health Heroes team of 16 players from the community, sponsored by friends and family or themselves, as well as one guest player between 12 or 15 years who will be playing for the Critters. The game will also include a silent auction and door prizes. Promotional Products and other prizes are often provided from local businesses for charity auctions such as this.
Attendees to the Hockey Classic are encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy in support of Leduc Santa’s Helpers, and young visitors can have their picture taken with Santa. All proceeds will go towards the Hospital Foundation’s current campaign to bring a portable X-ray machine to Leduc for better medical diagnosis and treatment. The Foundation will also be running its annual Wishes Come True Virtual Auction between November 1 and 10, also with donated items from local businesses.
The Leduc Community Hospital Foundation 30th Anniversary Charity Hockey Classic will take place on November 16 at Aspen Custom Trailers Arena.
