Leduc Chamber of Commerces Executive Director honored

A member of the Leduc Chamber of Commerce was recently given recognition by her peers from across the province.

Jennifer Garries, who is the chamber’s executive director, was selected to be Alberta’s Best Chamber Executive of the Year.

The award was presented to her during a gala dinner that was part of the annual conference for these trade organizations from all across the Alberta. A company that creates customized Corporate Gifts can design unique awards for events such as this that can be presented to the recipient.

In her acceptance speech, Garries thanked her fellow chamber members for all their hard work and dedication, and noted how well she and the other staff work as a team. She pointed out that this is part of what makes the organization strong and allows it to serve the needs of its membership so well. She went on to say that even though the downturn in the economy has meant that some of its members have had to leave, others have joined, and the chamber is thriving. It currently has nearly 800 members.

Garries has been in her current position for the past two years, and has been a member of the chamber’s staff for six years. She had also played a role the development of the Leduc economy for some time before that as well.
