Leduc will be celebrating the 70th anniversary of Leduc #1, and those who live in the area are invited to come out and take part in the assortment of activities that have been planned for the event.
The occasion, which marks the original discovery of oil that was made in the area 70 years ago, which will include a Canada 150 component. It will have something for people of all ages, and has been planned to be family friendly. Along with ‘Bringing in the Well’, there will be live music, a barbeque, movies, a special set of activities for the kids. The adults can wet their whistles in the beer garden, and there will be plenty of other food and beverage service providers on site as well. The second day of the festivities will kick off with a big breakfast, and the rest of the day will be filled with fun, just like the previous one.
The event has been planned for the Leduc #1 Museum and Energy Discovery centre, which can be found at 55330 Highway 60 in Devon. Tickets for adults and youth will be $10.00, and for children ages 6 to 12 will be $6. An area sign printing enterprise can supply customized signage and other promotional items for an event like this.
