Grant received to help upgrade Leduc pool

If things continue on as planned, Leduc residents will soon have a new place to swim and cool off during the hot days of summer.

The Friends of Alexandra Pool group recently announced that it has received a $75,000 grant from the Community Initiatives Program. This will be used to help fund upgrades to the pool and also to construct an outdoor water play area.

Total costs for the renovations will be $3 million, and it is being paid for through a combination of city funding, government grants, and money raised through various fundraising efforts.

The Friends of Alexandra Pool first took shape in 1995, when a group of concerned citizens got together to save the facility from being closed. They took over the running of the pool, and raised over $500,000 to help keep it going.

Current improvements will see the building closed for this year, but it is hoped that it will reopen in time for the 2015 season. The new water play area will have over 30 different activities with an aviation theme.

The group hopes that with these latest upgrades, the pool will be operational for a long time to come.

A company that provides printing services can offer all the promotional materials an organization such as this needs to keep the public updated on what is going on. When the pool is ready to reopen, professionals can then Print Invitations, decorations, and any other items needed to help celebrate the special day.
