Festival of Trees fundraiser to return to Leduc

For the ninth year running, the Boys and Girls Club of Leduc will be holding its holiday ‘Festival of Trees’ fundraiser.

This year, the event will include a Christmas tree display and a special shopping market. The Festival invites local businesses, organizations and families to create custom decorated trees, with the more unique and elaborate the better. Some trees will be eligible for silent auction, with proceeds going to the Club, while others are just for fun and advertisement.

Common tree decorations include lights, Christmas balls, and tinsel, but more inventive and high-tech ornaments could draw attention. For small businesses, unique opportunities like this can be an important complement to tried-and-true advertising strategies like poster and flyer printing.

In addition to the trees, vendors can set up stalls in the festival market, hoping to catch the eye of holiday shoppers. Other attractions will include a stage with live entertainment and a children’s carnival featuring a special appearance by Santa and, more importantly for the kids, a bouncy castle. Past events have successfully marked the beginning of the holiday season in Leduc, with over 3,500 visitors across two days attending the Festival of Trees in 2018.

The 2019 edition of the Festival of Trees will take place during November 23 and 24. The event is sponsored by Canadian Tire of Leduc.
