What's Happening in Leduc, AB…

This July will see the return of Leduc Art Walk, which will bring together over 90 artists and makers from across Alberta and beyond.

The event is one of the biggest hosted annually by Leduc Arts Foundry, and involves artists using a variety of mediums, from oil painting to wood working to graphic design. A number of arts-related businesses and vendors will also be present as part of a broader marketplace, including Evergreen Handmade, Jagged Rock Jewellery, and Claude Gaumont Photography. Vendors and art displays will be placed alongside two closed-off streets, with the festival area also including a stage for musical activity and an activity centre aimed at families.

This year’s Art Walk will include a special Picnic Table Project, in which artists are selected to paint plain picnic tables during the duration of the Art Walk event. The goal of the event is to promote local art and encourage creativity by publicly displaying the artistic process. The festival welcomes artists of all levels, meaning a wide variety of work will be on display. Food trucks will also be on hand, and local permanent businesses along the streets will be open for shopping.

The 2023 edition of Leduc Art Walk will take place at the intersection of 50th Avenue and 48th Street during the afternoon of July 15.
