The 40th annual Heritage Festival is taking place this August for three days in Hawrelak Park.

The event is set to feature 62 pavilions and 85 cultures. There will be dance performances, music, cultural displays, and shopping opportunities in each pavilion. Some of the cultures that will be represented at this year's festival are Aboriginal, Caribbean, Scandinavian, Dutch, Welsh, and German.

Of course, there will also be plenty of different ethnic foods to taste in the different areas. Food tokens cost $1 each, with 12 for $10, 18 for $15, 24 for $20, and 30 for $25. Each culture will also have its own arts and crafts vendors, who will be selling items like handmade jewelry, clothing and works of art.

The children are not forgotten either. Kidzworld will have activities like sand tables, arts and crafts, and face painting. They can also take part in the Hole in One Putt Challenge for $1 each, with three mountain bikes to be won as grand prizes.

Donations will also be accepted for the Edmonton Food Bank.

No doubt this festival regularly attracts people from across the region, including nearby Leduc. To spread the word to these communities, local printing companies are sometimes asked to provide advertising materials.
